Hero City 0.2

by ThatOtherPerson
In Hero City you play as a superhero and fly around fighting monsters.

ThatOtherPerson's Notes
=======================
Here is a very small update. More coming very soon.

I added a home menu. The cursor is a nice Wii style hand now. I edited the main characters texture to be a little bit less of a blatant Superman copy. Now there are multiple kinds of enemies. All of the enemies have walking animation. There is music now.

The background music used is La busqueda de IANNA background music by Epic Soul Factory.

Hero City 0.1

by ThatOtherPerson
In Hero City you play as a superhero and fly around fighting monsters.

ThatOtherPerson's Notes
=======================
Oh procrastination, why must you constantly slow my progress?

I started making this game ages ago but I haven’t been working on it as much as I could have. I haven’t really been doing much of anything lately. But with less then two weeks remaining before the Nintendomax Wii Dev Compo 2011 deadline I’ve begun working on it again. Its not yet really a game but I’m still hopeful that I will be able to finish it in time.

In Hero City you play as a superhero and fly around fighting monsters.

Use the nunchuck analog stick to move.
Use the wiimote pointer to turn.
Use the A button to jump, fly and run.

I’ll probably be changing the controls later and moving flying/running to their own button or buttons. There is a lot that will be changed as the game becomes more complete.

Cherophobe 0.9

by ThatOtherPerson
FPS: Kill the smiley faces!

ThatOtherPerson's Notes
=======================
I seem to remember reading that it would be acceptable to submit the same game to both competitions but I thought it would be nice to make something unique for each. So here is a first draft of my entry to the Wii section of the GBAtemp Homebrew Bounty.

Cherophobe is an FPS in which you must defend yourself against the unending assault of smiley faces. For every Smiley face that you defeat you will be rewarded with ten points (the high score is automatically saved). Your health drains away when a smiley face is too close to you and when you run out of health the game restarts. Scattered around the environment are health packs which will raise your health. There are also boxes containing addition ammo. Like the smiley faces the health packs and ammunition will infinity re spawn but always in random places that are out of view so you will need to continue wandering around the map to find them.

Use the nunchuck analog stick to move, the wiimote pointer to turn and press or hold the B button to shoot.

and yes it was very much inspired by my first game.

C64-network.org 2.1

by Simon Kagstrom

c64-network.org is a Commodore 64 emulator written by Christian Bauer (http://frodo.cebix.net). It was ported to the Wii by Simon Kagstrom, and many C64 games are fully playable on the Wii with it. So go ahead and beat your friends in International Karate, Boulder Dash or Bomb Jack. This version is not the same as Troy Davis implementation, but Troys work is available in a branch in the subversion tree.

The emulator works best in 480i mode. It runs perfectly fine in 576i mode as well, but does not utilize the full resolution. This is an SDL issue, and will not be fixed until SDL-Port supports it. Sound support is slightly buggy, but usable. The emulation itself is not perfect, so not all games will run under Frodo. Unfortunately, I cannot do very much about this since I haven't written the emulator - just ported it. If you have multiple versions of a game, try each of them as often at least one will work.
